The Search for a New Floating Home
Well, this is awkward. Our last boat decided to take a permanent vacation to the bottom of the ocean. Don’t worry, we all made it out alive - though I did lose my favorite chew toy in the process. My human keeps saying it was a “learning experience,” but I call it what it is: our boat was a floating death trap.
Now we’re on the hunt for something that won’t try to kill us. We’re looking for a proper blue-water cruiser this time - something that can handle more than just a gentle breeze and a few raindrops. I’ve been doing my research (yes, dogs can read, we just choose not to most of the time), and I’ve got some requirements:
- Must be able to survive my occasional zoomies around the deck
- No more water inside than outside the boat (this seems obvious, but our last boat didn’t get the memo)
- Enough space for my growing collection of seasick bags (just kidding, I never get seasick… much)
We’ve been touring some real winners. One boat smelled like it had been used as a fish market in a previous life. Another had more leaks than my human’s excuses for why we’re still in this marina. But we’ll find the right one - something that can handle the open ocean and my occasional need to bark at passing dolphins.
Stay tuned as we continue our search for a vessel that won’t try to kill us. And if you see any good deals on unsinkable boats, let me know. I promise I won’t bite… much.
